Is it activation, equipping or a passive effect?
Scroll the comparison sideways to see every column.
| What you see | Start here |
|---|---|
| The artifact is equipped but will not activate | Check its current resource display, cooldown and assigned input. |
| You cannot replace an artifact in a menu | Try the full equipment view rather than repeatedly pressing the stuck quick-menu selection. |
| A talisman has no activation button | Talismans supply passive effects; compare the slot with the equipment catalogue. |
| The game closes or disconnects | Use the separate crash and login checks. |
Try a temporary re-equip recovery
- Move away from enemies before opening equipment. Do not rely on the menu to protect you while you change your setup.
- Check the artifact’s displayed resource, cooldown and input. If it is simply unavailable, wait or meet the displayed requirement before treating it as a lockup.
- Note which artifact stopped working and what happened immediately before it. Reports link some lockups to Shadowcloak; other players describe an artifact failing after use without identifying that trigger.
- Unequip the affected artifact, then equip it again. Check that it is assigned to the intended slot and test once in a safe situation. This is a player-reported recovery attempt, not a permanent fix.
- If it starts working but fails again, record the recurrence. When the failure consistently follows the same equipment effect, try an alternative setup for comparison without salvaging the original.
Capture the trigger, not just the failed button
- Record the platform, installed game version, and whether the session is online, offline or local co-op.
- Record the artifact, weapon and relevant equipment effects, including Shadowcloak if it was active. Avoid guessing a cause from one failure.
- Capture the displayed resource and cooldown state, plus the action just before the failure. Note whether one artifact or all three stop responding.
- Include what changed after re-equipping, and how long it took to fail again. A short clip of the trigger is more useful than repeated screenshots of a disabled ability.
A crash hotfix is not an artifact-fix promise
Hotfix 1.1.2.0 covers gameplay crashes, a Prime Enchanter lightning/TNT crash, exiting an online game, and blurry Ultra-quality visuals. Its listed fixes do not establish that Shadowcloak-related artifact lockups are fixed. Follow the version and crash checklist to update, then retest the specific ability problem. Keep an alternative setup in the loadout planner; use the inventory guide before clearing the gear you are comparing.
